FAQ
We recommended using our motors in freshwater lakes, streams, and rivers until later iterations are released. While our motors will work in salt water, they may be damaged overtime. Please note that saltwater is highly corrosive, and we recommend rinsing off the motor after each use to maintain its functionality over time.
· With our steering versions, the motor is controlled by our remote control and existing or installed pedals on your kayak. If your kayak does not already have movable pedals, our included pedals can be installed in minutes.
· With our non-steering versions, the motor is controlled by our remote control. This version does not require movable pedals and is compatible with any hard-sided watercraft such as Kayaks, Canoes, and other small watercrafts. To steer this design, simply drag your paddle in the direction you would like to turn.
Most Common Option:
12 Volt 100Ah Lithium Ion Battery.
Highest Performance Option:
18 Volt 100Ah Lithium Ion Battery.
Any battery with a nominal voltage of 12 to 18 volts is compatible with the Glide Motor. This includes deep-cycle marine batteries or car batteries. For optimal performance, we recommend a lightweight lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 100Ah or higher. A water-resistant battery box with protective fuses or GFCI safety systems is also required.
Many of our products take ~5 minutes to install. All hardware and instructions are included with the motor. Anyone with a Phillips-head screwdriver can install the motor on their own.
