Inspired by the nature around us, we are a family-run and owned business based out of Cleveland, Ohio. After 4 years of research and development, we created a collection of products we were proud to sell and put our name behind.
Our Story
When I was a kid, I lost an RC submarine to a cheap motor. Not a dramatic failure it just stopped working underwater and slowly, depressingly, sank out of sight. I never forgot it.
Years later, building and working with marine brushless motors for the patented Glide Kayak Motor, I kept running into the same problem at a larger scale. Motors marketed as waterproof that corroded and failed within a season. Builds that failed mid-water because someone cut corners on hardware. The same frustration, just more expensive.

Glide Motors exists because I couldn't find what I was looking for. Kayak motors made too cheaply for too much money that were horribly slow. So, after 4 years I finally had the Glide Kayak Motor designed and patented. After designing this, I realized others had the same issues I did. Brushless motors weren't surviving the marine averments they were advertised for. So, I took the motor we built to survive the glide motor and are giving it to the public.

Chris A. Riley
Creating his first invention at only 4 years old, going to a top school in his state, and personally running small manufacturing business in the past, allowed Chris A. Riley the opportunity to operate Glide Motors LLC through his creation of the original, now patented, Glide Motor System.
